Maybe you're like me Zig Zag?


Sometimes, you just want to be out there in the world.


Be social, do everything and be everywhere.


Then, there are the other days.


A day like Monday for me.


I just wasn’t feeling it.


It was a day when I could have easily curl up on my sofa and got stuck into a box set on TV.


But here's the thing...


... it's OK to feel like this once in a while.


It's normal. 


A few clients have been feeling under the weather over the last few weeks too


Have you also found yourself saying “There’s a lot of IT around? …”


Colds, headaches, lethargy, generally feeling under the weather


Sometimes it's your body's way of telling you to take a break. 


I have been super busy this January. 


I had a massage the other day and the lady laughed at how tense my shoulders were.

There's this thing going around Facebook at the moment in the Personal Trainer circles.


They are calling themselves a ‘new generation of PT entrepreneurs’ who are trying to (I think?) make me and the rest feel guilty if you aren't working 24/7.


They talk about how they don't get home until midnight.


How they only sleep a few hours a night. They are using the hashtag #teamnosleep


And how it will all be worth it in the end.


But will it?


I genuinely fear for their clients!

Don't get me wrong, I have no problem at all with "hard work".


But it's much better to perform "smart work".


Be time efficient AND effective and make sure you get in that R & R


Many years ago I went out with a professional athlete. It always amazed me how little (as in time) he trained AND how important relaxation was!


Treat your mind and body just like a professional athlete does. 


Athletes eat well and nourish their body.


Athletes train hard, but they don't train 16+ hours a day. 


And athletes get plenty of time to rest and recover. 


The key, just like most things in life, is balance.

If you need a day off, listen to your body and take a day off.


Just don't do it every single day!
