So the sun was out last weekend, it was Mother's day it signalled the beginning of

spring…🤔

and it was a great excuse to have a drink, wasn't it?

Look, I'm not here to preach, I like a glass of wine, Prosecco (or maybe a G&T!)… as

much as you, and I believe we'll have the same excuse this Sunday. If you believe the

forecast

I just want to share the FACTS first and then "the magic" and help you make the best decision

for YOU…

So, let me start by "quickly" telling you how alcohol stops you burning fat.

Once alcohol is swallowed, it travels down the into the stomach and the small intestine.

It avoids the normal digestive process and goes right into the bloodstream.

About 20 percent of the alcohol consumed is absorbed in the stomach, and about 80 percent is absorbed in the small intestine.

The alcohol in your bloodstream then travels directly to your liver.

One of the liver's main jobs is to get rid of poisons, like alcohol, that enter the body.

The alcohol in broken down into acetate and acetaldehyde which IMMEDIATELY signals

your body to STOP BURNING FAT, and use the calories from the poisonous alcohol

first. Therefore it slows your fat burning ability down significantly.

THE BOTTOM LINE:

If you want to be slimmer and more toned, you must minimise alcohol consumption!

Harsh… but fair.

Now I'm not going to stop there.

Here's the MAGIC 😜

Being told what to do and actually DOING it are two very different things aren't they?

I'm sure I haven't just told you something you didn't already know.

Alcohol consumption is something we discuss and trouble shoot A LOT at Zig Zag.

We've got to find a way to enjoy ourselves AND get and maintain the results we want.

Alcohol just keeps raising its head as a stumbling block for many .

Last week I asked

What is your biggest struggle?

" Wine is still my thing! My sticking point. Tried to just have ONE. Tried allowing myself

a small glass every day. It just doesn't work for me!"

She was looking to me to give her a solution. But to be honest, this was more about

motivation, rather than looking for another trick.

For meaningful change to occur, we have to look inside. Dig a bit.

You may never feel ready to make meaningful change to the way you drink wine (or

anything). You actually just won't

How will you know if you're ready? When your emotions, passion and desire gets so big

that you can no longer ignore it.

If you start to hear "that" voice..listen to it - No matter how scared you are. No matter

what you're frightened of missing out on. This is the point that you'll find the motivation

to take massive action.

What if you NEVER get there? That's ok. You're not ready, to give this up.

Keep taking action in other areas.

Ask yourself "Is wine the ONLY thing I could change in diet to give me a different result?"

Is there something else? Nutrition, exercise, mindset?

I had a friend who was a fitness model years ago. She drank a large glass of wine every

night. Ripped abs ( 3 kids !) aged 35, no cellulite, fab shoulders

(gah! and a lovely lady 🙄) How does that work?

Wine was her thing. She wasn't prepared to give it up. She could take or leave

everything else. She just made sure that the rest of her diet and exercise was

absolutely smokin!

Keep taking action. Keep experimenting. Keep asking yourself, what AM I prepared to

do to get what I want?

Stop obsessing about the one thing you THINK you SHOULD change.

There are no rules here. Just what serves you and your happiness best.

If you really want to get super clear, change ONE thing at a time. Whatever you like.

Just something that will give you a tangible answer as to whether the thing you have

chosen is working for you?

Sit with it. Keep doing it for AT LEAST 2 weeks.

Do it (or don't do it, if you see what I mean? ) everyday.

Build momentum.

Do we always need to focus on bringing up our weaknesses?..eg saying "no to another glass of wine?

I think not...What are you good at? What are you at least 90% certain that you CAN do

with some focus?

What do you think?
